WireWax Test for the Mural Project

Taggable Video with WireWax

 I'm experimenting with using this platform to make interactive videos.  In this version, the tags are invisible, and they move with (or, "track") with the objects they refer to. Users can click on almost anything in the frame to see additional information, including text, images and even videos.  Useful tool, though their hosting and viewing policies are still unclear to me at this point.  But if WireWax is good enough for Nike, then they're not going anywhere soon.  Plus, the videos are portable, and they take their interactive capabilities with them - even to Youtube.  After trying to write code to make video pop-ups, AND looking for apps than can do video pop-ups, I can say with some certainty that this is definitely the only "hypervideo" platform that can do everything I want it to d.    Should I continue trying to create this with javascript?   Hmmm ...

Anyway: give it a shot.  Click on faces and objects in the mural.  I don't have any videos embedded in this version, but I will do that soon.  It works through YouTube.

OK, Second Attempt

Actually, the third.  I'll post #2 later.  Getting a little better, but this one still has some pretty glaring errors.  The cool thing is that this is some old port footage that I shot as b-roll, not intended for 'cinemagraph' use.

First Post --> Cinemagraphs!

I'm gonna waste sooo much time making these.  Although, they could have some use in ethnographic storytelling I suppose.  Click on the photo to see the full effect (if you don't see the water moving).  I kind of "honey badger"-ed the exposure on the original video (didn't give a shit).  Sorry about that. I was in a hurry.
